Need another bonfire & fireworks fix… Shoreham Bonfire 9th November 2013

Shoreham Bonfire 2013Missed all the bonfire and firework fun so far this year?  Well these is still a chance and it’s a perfect one to take the whole family too this Saturday.

Shoreham Bonfire Society on Shoreham Beach in West Sussex is a community run, community funded event for the whole family to enjoy.  Head to Beach Green, Shoreham by Sea, on Saturday 9th November to join the procession at 6.30pm.

The procession led by the local Coastguard Service and accompanied by the Beach Bateria Samba Band and the Heart FM Angels will arrive in time for the lighting of the Bonfire on the beach at around 7pm.  The excellent fireworks will take place at about 7.15pm.

At the end of the firework display you can stick around and enjoy the catering (burgers, noodles, hot & cold drinks), the kids tea cups ride and the Shoreham Allstars juniors music bands performing close by.

A great night out.

Shoreham Battle of Britain Air Show 2012, 1st 2nd September West Sussex

Judging by the loud rumbling noise and the house windows starting to rattle I can safely assume that the 2012 RAFA Battle of Britain Airshow is underway at Shoreham by Sea in Sussex.

For those that have not been before its a great day out, perfect for families young and old. With aircraft of all sizes and all ages there is something for everyone. There is plenty to see and do at the airfield including Dad’s Army display.

The airshow is held to support the work of the Royal Air Forces Association which provides welfare and comradeship to all members of the Royal Air Force and Royal Air Force Regiment. Since the shows inception, the event has raised over £1.5million for RAFA.

The afternoon flying display features strong support from the armed forces as well as exciting aerobatic and emotive historic aircraft displays.

The event usually includes a famous “Scramble” scenario featuring historic Spitfires, Hurricanes and Messerchmitts in a thrilling set piece with pyrotechnics and re-enactors. On the ground there will be extensive static displays, arena displays, classic cars and trade stalls.

Join the fun this weekend by travelling to the Shoreham Airport at Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex.

French Market CakesWe have just taken a look at today’s French Market at Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex and it’s looking just a little bit tasty!

In fact, we may have to be dragged away kicking and screaming from the cakes and bread stalls this morning. Also check out our favourite addition to the High Street, continuing the French theme, the delightful Real Patisserie for lovingly hand-made cakes and more.

There are even blue skies this morning so if you fancy something ‘naughty but nice’ head to this pretty little Sussex town, just don’t blame us if you put on a few extra pounds 😉

Family Fun in Shoreham by Sea, West Sussex

If you are looking for some family fun this afternoon (2nd June) in the West Sussex area, then head to Beach Green on Shoreham Beach where there is a Family Fun Day.

Highlights will include performances by Herbie Flowers and Michael Hinton, a Scruffs dog show and displays by the Zumbatonics.  The programme also includes refreshments from the Church Café and a Real Ale Bar, a bouncy castle, face-painting, games and stories. There will also be a fire engine, skill testing with Adur Outdoor Activities Centre, PASS soccer coach testing and challenges for young and old, set by Shoreham gym Beach Fit.
