February Half Term Family Lodges

February Half Term cottage breaksWhat to do with the kids during the winter half term can be a challenge.  We all know the weather can be unpredictable, at best, so the February school half term at home can feel like a lot of time locked in at home with children with far too much unused energy… does that sound familiar?

If it does, then why not consider taking a short break in a holiday lodge this February half term? It really is a perfect family solution.

Activity Parks to Swimming Pools and Family Fun

Lots of lodges can be found on popular holiday parks across the UK.  During the School half term many of these parks will run kids entertainment programmes for everything from exploring in the great outdoors to indoor art and  creativity sessions.  In fact there will be lots to keep children of all ages entertained so that Mum and Dad can enjoy the break to, whatever the weather.

Many of the holiday parks with lodges also have swimming pools, table tennis tables, amusements and other facilities such as indoor play areas.  So there are lots of things to do to wear even the most active children out during a fun packed day.

Accommodation for Families and Pets

Lodge accommodation is perfect for families providing comfortable and affordable self catering.  Cosy even in February, lodges are available for families of all sizes and that includes your pet dog too!

Great Prices, Superb Value

Holiday lodges are excellently priced family self catering all year round, but they offer even better value in the winter half term where prices are much lower than in the summer.  In addition you can find some great deals and discounts on holiday lodges across the UK which can save you even more. February Half Term Cottage Breaks – head to the Cotswolds?

If you are looking for some school half term inspiration we might have just what you are looking for as we have added a whole new collection of cottages in the ever popular Cotswolds to our listings. Whether you are looking to explore picturesque villages, roam the countryside or relax in a home from home, you can be sure that, whichever one of the Cotswold cottages you choose you will have a great time.

The February half term is a great time to get away in a cottage, apartment or lodge as there is still plenty of outdoor fun to be had but its great to end the day in your cosy accommodation.

It is well worth considering a lodge on a holiday park during the February half term as there is quite often family entertainment on the park during the holiday period which keeps the children of all ages entertained even if the weather is on the cold or damp side!

Christmas Cottages and Festive Breaks

Christmas cottage breaksNow that the weather has turned decidedly chilly and the clocks have gone back, I think it’s safe to give our first mention to the Christmas holidays.

And, while many people like Christmas at home, a lot of people love the opportunity to escape over the festive holiday break.  we can certainly see the appeal, either with or without the extended family, to enjoy the Christmas and New Year holidays in a lovely cottage in the country or on the British coast.

A cottage for Christmas can be perfect for couples wanting a quiet retreat but are so perfect for big families all looking to get together in one place that is big enough to take them all.

Let’s be honest, Christmas holidays are not about the rush to see holiday attractions and theme parks, they are much more to do with staying  in with your friends and loved ones – with the occasional walk to get some fresh air and exercise.  Which is why getting away makes such perfect sense and so to help you find a cottage for you this December, Christmas and New Year we have put together a couple of list that you will find useful:

Getting Mixed Signals

It’s been a strange week so far, winter weather conditions one moment, blue skies and sun the next, but it’s clearly not just me that is confused judging by my mail  in-box.

So far I have been offered some great discounts off sunglasses, holiday discounts for October half term and in my local supermarket I was confronted by row upon row of Christmas special offers!

So which ‘urgent’ need should I be addressing first?  The up and coming school half term, our Christmas plans or our 2013 summer holiday!

I don’t know about you, but I am not quite ready to write off 2012 yet, after all it’s only the beginning of October.  And, there are still things to look forward to including Halloween, Bonfire Night (and Fireworks), a number of music festivals and events, and of course the prospect of many cosy nights in. I still see plenty of opportunities for an October short break, a November get-away and a December holiday – but then I am all about the holidays!

What’s on this Weekend: 15th 16th September

Where is the time going, we are all ready approaching mid September?  It only feels like yesterday we got back from our summer holidays and yet we are about to head into the second half of the month.

Well time is certainly running out to make the most of the mild weather and the number of major outdoor events and attractions is definitely dropping, so here are some things to look out for this weekend (15th & 16th September 2012).  If you are going out for the weekend why not tell us where by adding a comment below.

This is one of the last weekends of country and county shows in the UK and Ireland so it’s one of your last chances to get out and enjoy a fun family day out. Here are some to check out:

The cycling Tour of Britain concludes this weekend with stages from Barnstaple to Dartmouth and the concluding stage in the Guildford area.

Of course many of the UK’s holiday attractions are still open, check out our attraction list. In addition, many of the lovely British and Irish Gardens are still open to the public so if you want to see the last of the summer planting before Autumn sets in and changes the colours and views make a bee line to them this weekend.

So what are you doing, what else should be on our list?

As the summer holidays start to draw to a close, now is a great time to get ahead of the rush and book an October Half Term holiday.

We know, it’s still sunny outside so who wants to think about the Autumn, Halloween and the approaching winter.  We certainly don’t, but a quick bit of planning now will mean you have something to look forward to when you and the family returns to school and work.

The October School Half Term is the last extended break before Christmas and surprisingly it is quite often a sunny and dry one (although a bit chilly in the evenings). A holiday cottage is perfect for the October Half Term providing a great base for all your family day time activities but also somewhere warm and snug in the evening (or those odd wet days).

As a relatively big holiday, often culminating in Halloween fun, you will find lots of the UK’s attractions are open during the Half Term break, often with themed events and fun.  What’s more if you stay at a lodge or static caravan on a holiday park you will find many of them run a full entertainment programme for all the family during the Half term.

So you don’t have to spend too long thinking of October and so that you can back to your summer holiday as quickly as possible take a look at our selection of holiday cottages, apartments, holiday flats, lodges and mobile homes perfect for a self catering Half Term holiday.
