We like the sound of this special offer in the beautiful South of Devon in August… £300 OFF a luxury farmhouse that can sleep up to 12.
Although much of the availability for this self catering property has now gone, there are still a couple of weeks left so it’s not too late to grab a bargain.
Broad Downs Farmhouse offers a spacious contemporary living space perfect for larger parties looking for a quiet rural retreat this Summer. Relax in the sunshine with the children in the outdoor pool, play ball games in the beautiful shared gardens.
Broad Downs is just a short five-minute drive from the picturesque sailing town of Salcombe with its beaches, waterfront, shops and restaurants. Beautiful walks connect with miles of coastal paths at Bolberry Down leading to Salcombe, Soar Mill Cove, Hope Cove and Thurlestone, whilst Bantham Beach, popular with surfers from far and wide is just a 10 minute drive away. The location provides an ideal secluded country retreat, the perfect base for exploring neighbouring coves and beaches and the market town of Kingsbridge (a 10 minute drive) and beyond to Dartmouth approximately half an hour away.
The offer is for weeks commencing 2/3 August and 9/10th August (Thursday or Friday change-over available) with the price NOW £3525, under £42 per person, per night, based on 12 sharing, if booked before 20th July.

We are just back from a family cottage holiday in East Devon and have decided that Devon is our new family favourite holiday destination in the South of England.
I have to admit that in previous year’s we have often stopped in Dorset (particularly the New Forest) or gone all the way to Cornwall heading for the coastal surfing resorts. However, this year we thought we would do something a little different and instead of passing through, stopped in East Devon at a wonderful little village called Broadhembury, near Honiton.
Broadhembury conforms to every one of your stereotypes of a Devon village…. reached via winding single lane roads and lanes, peaceful, relaxed, impressive Church, lovely local pub, post office selling delightful cream teas and packed full of thatched cottages. If this is all sounding rather idyllic that is because it was.
Honiton is just a few miles down the road and is a good-sized town in East Devon with takeaways, restaurants and shops to meet all your needs. There is also a swimming pool if you are looking for something more active.
At Broadhembury you are also about half an hour drive away from the lovely regional city of Exeter. Exeter combines a busy and modern shopping centre, restaurants and cinema complex with its old town, Cathedral and historic roots. There are lots of Guided Walks through the City that provide all the history and drama of the City before you get some great family entertainment.
We loved our time in East Devon and would definitely recommend it. Find out more about East Devon and self catering cottages.
The Devon County Show is a fabulous celebration of all that is great about the British countryside and one of the best days out in Devon. The 2012 Devon County Show is being held between the 17th May and 19th May at Westpoint, Exeter.
It promises to be a great year with all the activities you would expect at a county show, including competitions, arts and crafts, livestock, learning about animals & the countryside and, this years star attraction, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Yes, the Mounties are going to be there and it’s one of just 2 appearances they will be making in the UK in 2012 – the other is the at HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant.
It’s perfect for a family day out with up to 3 children allowed in for FREE for each paying adult! It’s also worth buying tickets in advance to save some extra pennies on admission!
So if you have been inspired by Kirstie Allsop’s TV programmes (like we have been) on entering a County Show competition or just want to have a really fun day out then check out the Devon County Show.
